Nama Via Vallen kembali menjadi sorotan karena cover lagu yang ia bawakan. Memang, selama ini Via Vallen dikenal sering meng-cover lagu-lagu dari band-band terkenal lain.
Via Vallen diketahui sempat membawakan lagu milik Superman Is Dead yang berjudul Sunset di Tanah Anarki. Rupanya ada fakta di balik hal tersebut, yaitu selama membawakan lagu milik Superman Is Dead itu, Via Vallen tak pernah meminta izin terlebih dahulu.
Hal tersebut diketahui melalui unggahan Jerinx, penabuh drum di Superman Is Dead melalui twitnya pada Jumat (9/11/2018). Awalnya, Jerinx membalas sebuah twit dari penggemarnya soal single terbaru.
"Aku suka puisi cinta para perompak. Kayanya bakal di cover via vallen. ," tulis @ariiatii.
"Tanpa Sunset di Tanah Anarki, Vallen ga akan ada di posisinya saat ini. #fact," balas Jerinx.
Twit tersebut kemudian direspons lagi oleh penggemarnya yang lain. "Bersyukur bli punya fans LADY ROSE cantik bukan karena oplas meski beda aliran antara punkrock dan dangdut ," tulis @Made_Dav.
Rupanya Jerinx berpendapat lain. Menurutnya, Via Vallen telah merendahkan makna dari lagu tersebut.
"Ngefans tapi sama sekali ga pernah minta ijin bawain lagu SID. Dan lagu ini pesannya besar. Vallen paham gak apa yg ia nyanyikan? Ini bukan ttg nominal. She's DEGRADING the meaning of the song.," balas Jerinx.
Dari situ lah diketahui bahwa selama ini Via Vallen tak pernah meminta izin untuk membawakan lagu-lagu Superman Is Dead. Jerinx juga menegaskan bahwa dirinya bukan mempermasalahkan soal untung-rugi semata, tetapi jauh lebih penting dari itu.
"gak minta ijin? bukannya mereka juga rilis versi dvdnya ya, untung gede dong mereka," tanya @obetoy.
"Exactly. But then again, money is not my objective. Anyone can cover it SELAMA dilakukan dengan itikad baik; bagi sejarah, sesama & masa depan bangsa. Jika hanya utk perkaya diri, then she's no different than a f*cking wh*re.," balas Jerinx.
